IHC Hytop completed and yield 2 Hose reels for Modec Tupi pilot FPSO

 

2 Hose reels for the Tupi pilot FPSO (Cidade de Angra dos Reis) by Modec offshore production Systems (Sing) Pte. Ltd. have been completed and yield.

2 Hose reels for the Tupi pilot FPSO (Cidade de Angra dos Reis) by Modec offshore production Systems (Sing) Pte. Ltd. have been completed and yield.

The engineering for this project was executed by IHC Offshore Systems. IHC Hytop supplied the 2 hose reels as a turn-key engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project. The supply of IHC Hytop also included the offloading hose strings.

The hose reels are positioned on the extreme bow and stern end of the FPSO and are used to store the FPSO’s 20” 300# offloading hoses. These offloading hoses are reeled on and off frequently to offload the FPSO’s crude oil to nearby shuttle tankers.

Fabrication of the hose reels took place in Singapore. From Singapore the hose reels, complete with hose strings, was transported to the conversion yard in the Dalian area in China for installation on the FPSO.

In December 2009 and January 2010 the hydraulics, E&I and testing was completed on the fabrication yard under supervision of IHC Hytop.

Herewith IHC Hytop turns 250 tons of steel and 170 tons of rubber in to a turn-key supplied product in only 26 weeks. This fast delivery was one of the key factors for Modec to award this contract to IHC Hytop.

The Singapore branch of IHC Parts & Services took care, on behalf of IHC Hytop, of the day-to-day progress and QC control on the fabrication yard.
